Happy Halloween

I must admit that Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  I love that it is just for fun, and no one expects anything from you other than some candy.  We decorate our house and have become "the" house to hit in the neighborhood.

Mr. Mummy is ready to hand out some candy

Spiderweb table runner & an owl for a festive touch on the sofa table.

Bats hanging in the magnolia tree

A glimpse of the graveyard - pre fog machine.

I hope y'all enjoyed a great Halloween party this weekend.  Happy trick or treating to all the little ones.

Mixed metals and me

A few of my favorite bracelets*

A white & yellow gold ring I bought in Florence.  The Ponte
Vecchio is lined with amazing jewelry stores.

An overflow for my bracelets.  Never knew how many I had until the hubs asked about the one I bought on our honeymoon.  So I looked online & thought this was cute way to display them as well as remind me as to what they look like.

I prefer to buy jewelry & art when I travel.  The bracelets I have are from all over.  Looking forward to adding more to my collection.

*   Bracelets as they appear:   Gold Bangle - gift from Mom; Tiffany 1837 bead bracelet , Return to Tiffany bracelet  & Diamond Tennis bracelet (he got a motorcycle - now sold) all gifts from the hubs; Gold dolphin bracelet from when I lived at the beach similar , and last a very special one.  Expect Miracles - fundraiser for a friend currently fighting breast cancer.

Sick Day

Trees starting to change color.  Love today's Carolina blue sky.

Parking lot puddle caught my eye.

Yes, it is fall - look at all those apples.

Lunch stop - perfect to cure bronchitis.

I'm home from work today, having bronchitis on top of asthma is not fun.   I had to get dressed to take the pups out and then later for lunch & some food for the barren kitchen.  I was tempted to put on a pair of yoga pants, but leggings w/a cute tunic as just as comfy.

Key West

Girls weekend was fabulous.  We did have a day of rain, but that allowed us to chat all day long and catch up.  We live all over and this is the only time we get together.  Everyone is married so there are no more weddings to look forward to attending.   I had the best Key Lime Pie from Kermit's dipped in chocolate and my bff had regular.  I must admit that my parents gave me sisters and God gave me the most amazing girlfriends.   I hope you all have some fabulous women in you lives too!

Rigatoni with chestnuts, pancetta & sage

The hubs picked some fresh chestnuts & I knew I wanted to make a pasta dish with them.  I have made a yummy chestnut & squash lasagna in the past, but I was hungry and I wanted a quick meal.  A search of epicurious yielded this recipe.  I did not have any tagliatelle so I used rigatoni instead.  It was a hit and I suggest you give it a try as well.  I even roasted chestnuts, but not over an open fire.   My oven works just fine.

Hubs said that the pumpkin pie bars were too good not to share with y'all.

He eyed  this at the store, so I decided to go ahead and give it a try.  I think Krusteaz is on of the best box brands out there.  I was very pleasantly surprised out how well it tasted.  I think all my future pumpkin pies will have a ginger snap crust not just pumpkin cheesecake.
