Another Etsy Score
I love the updated yet simple look of this necklace I found by Gems In Vogue on Etsy. It was exactly what I was searching for without breaking the bank. I plan to layer it with others and I convo'd the owner and she was great about shortening the length for me. Makes me want to rush home and check my mailbox. Would have looked great with my new boots I wore last night. :)

Garden pasta
Before the hubs left for his guys weekend (deep sea fishing) he picked some green beans & tomatoes from our garden. There were only a handful of green beans so I decided to toss them in my pasta. I sauteed the veggies then simmered some shaved garlic, added thin spaghetti and topped with grated parm & crushed red peppers. It was light, delicious and perfect for summer.

Stuffed Sopapilla (with green chiles) from Elk Horn Restaurant in Chama, NM.

I caved
The hubs has been encouraging me to get some cowboy boots for quite a while now and I agreed to go boot shopping. I saw these super pointy Dolce & Gabbana ones while we were walking around Durango, CO. I know, how horrible of me to take a sneaky shot but I just couldn't help myself.
So the hubs, BIL & I went to Boot Barn. I tried on several boots looking for the perfect pair. I had on some utilitarian ones and the BIL told me they were not "flashy"enough for me. I never considered myself "flashy" but I knew what he meant and these caught my eye. They were super comfy, fun and I knew I had to have them.
The pic was taken in the rental car w/my phone and I'm looking forward to wearing them very soon.

Heading out west
The hubs and I are leaving very early tomorrow to head out to New Mexico & Colorado for a family reunion. I'm looking forward to eating some things smothered in green chiles. I will also get to love on the nieces and nephews and enjoy reconnecting with his siblings. I was informed that it was 60 degrees this morning. That sounds freezing! I just checked the weather and gets down in the 50's at night. I'm used to it being much warmer at night. I better pack a jacket and some gloves. I hope you all have a wonderful week. ciao for now.

cheating on kendi
cheating on kendi by blonde gi-gi featuring a long sleeve tunic
After having lunch with the hubs we went to Ann Taylor (extra 50% off sale) just for a quick peek. The hubs picked out these two items for me. Who am I to say no....

I miss
Shopping! I have been adhering to no purchases during the Kendi Remix. Let me tell you, I am so ready for July 14th. I have let my eyes wander online and some tempting finds out there have been calling me. I should just step away from the computer, unless it is looking up a recipe. Food shopping is allowed and is always encouraged. I did a little shopping in my garden the other day and this is what I carried into the kitchen. I used a beautiful scarf from Japan since that was the only thing on me and I was not about to hike up my sundress.
That is just a small sample of the basil. The hubs loaded himself up with it and I ended up making two batches of Pesto.

Aloha breakfast
My wonderful SIL sent me a present from her recent trip to Hawaii. The hubs & I were to go along but the was a kink in the planning and so we decided to forgo this time. (That story is for another post). Last time we had the most delicious breakfast at Wailana Coffee House in Waikiki at the suggestion of one of my besties. We had the macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup and Portuguese sausage. So below is shot of the gift.
There was only one thing left for me to do... Make some macadamia nut pancakes to go along with it. It made me remember a great trip to Hawaii and look forward to the next.
Writing this post is making me hungry. Think I'm going to go have a snack.
