Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower 'Wings'

This may be the hubs new favorite.  I made it as a side over the weekend and it was too good not to share.  Recipe and image from PETA

Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower 'Wings'

1 cup water or soy milk
1 cup flour (any kind will work—even gluten-free!)
2 tsp. garlic powder (I did not have garlic powder so I used my ginger grater on 2 cloves of garlic)
1 head of cauliflower, chopped into pieces
1 cup buffalo or hot sauce
1 Tbsp. olive oil or melted vegan margarine
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  • Combine the water or soy milk, flour, and garlic powder in a bowl and stir until well combined.
  • Coat the cauliflower pieces with the flour mixture and place in a shallow baking dish. Bake for 18 minutes.
  • While the cauliflower is baking, combine your buffalo sauce and olive oil or margarine in a small bowl.
  • Pour the hot sauce mixture over the baked cauliflower and continue baking for an additional 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Serve alongside blue cheese dressing and celery sticks.

Rule of thumb

What is y'all rule of thumb for getting rid of clothes?  I recently went through my closet and I had things I have not put on my body in YEARS.   I was happy to note that everything still fits, just the styles have changed.  I have two bags full of stuff to donate and I'm not done yet.   The best part of cleaning out my closet is making room for new items. Higher end pieces may go to a consignment shop.

A few things that have caught my eye.

Simply country

Simply country

I met my high school bestie last night for dinner.   She is a lover of horses (has 5) and I knew she would appreciate the new kicks.   Gotta love shutting a Chinese place down.   She swears the next get together will be on my porch.  Oh, and she already picked out what I'm going to cook.

FNO

Last night I went to Fashion Night Out with my friend Lisa.  She was running late and I started without her.  So glad I did since I scored this cute swag bag with my purchase.   They even gave everyone a 20% off coupon to use by the end of September and 20% off last nights purchase. It included:

It was a pleasant surprise and I had a fun night shopping local boutiques.   Of course I had to try a new cupcake place.   We now have three within a mile radius....

The weather was hot & steamy, but I managed to eat, drink and shop.  I'm planning on going back during the cooler months.   Hubs even bought me another pair of cowboy boots on the trip home to NC.   Hope y'all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend.  Now to prepare for FNO tomorrow night.
